Karnum

Across Karnum civilizations future survival hangs by a thread. On Yuruk-Tar, nature has sought nothing but blood since the first human stepped foot on its shores. In Silvaria, loosely associated City-States struggle against monstrous forces attempting to demolish all they have accomplished at every turn. In the Rabid Lands, the local inhabitants are just as hostile, but in addition, the land itself seems to swallow up any attempts at settlements. Meanwhile on Norphamus, the wide urban landscapes boast of the many accomplishments of King and Council, while the foundations of these institutions rot below the surface. Meanwhile, the rest of the world remains virtually uninhabited, either because the Sea of Darkness has made navigating by starlight impossible or because of some other sinister reasons. Globally, riches are scarce, and opportunities to move up in the world are rare. Those opportunities that do appear are often dangerous and come with the risks of death or worse.  Many hold out hope that life will get better while others are so hopeless they doubt that even the gods are who they say they are, despite them physically walking amongst the people. Karnum is full of people either living a hand to mouth existence, people taking advantage of the former, people in denial that the world is the way it is, and people truly trying to make a difference.
