Cave Kitsune
Cave Kitsunes are the little cave gremlins that scurry about in the northwestern caves of Kathrir. Some see them as dangerous, dirty, devilish creatures, while others find them handsome lil beasties with fancy noses.
They look similar to foxes, with fluffy fur covering their heads, back, and tail. The rest of their body has long, silky fur that reaches the ground if left uncut.
One of the Kitsune's more unique features is it's highly developed nose, which is used to sniff out pretty much anything it can. Heck, you could train it to sniff out your keys in preparation for the next time they go missing.
Their monstrous reputation comes from a story of someone finding a massive dead predator down in the caves, with a Cave Kitsune sitting on tip of it scarfing down a snack. The kitsune growled and charged, and used a mushroom's spores to daze the person and move them out of its territory. This started the ideas that this fox was a poisonous apex predator of some strange kind.
Needless to say that it is untrue, but because of the story many still avoid interaction with one at all costs.
