Divinity's Prison + Choose Your Path Adventure!

Zander carefully put the photos into his bag and handed it to the cloaked figure across from him. "Remember, your mission is simple. Find something, anything that might tell what happened before. With what's been happening recently with the magic outbreaks and all that, there might be something in there that could put us on the right track to fixing all of it."
The other person nodded and slipped the bag over their shoulder, ready to go.
"I've put a drawing of the vault into that bag. If this place hides a secret so big that it caused the place to be abandoned and all of it's staff to be unable to tell us what happened, the secrets should be there. Now, be safe and good luck."
They nodded again and left, leaving Zander there to hope that they came back alive. Divinity's Prison was a place of danger according to the old warnings, but if they could figure out what happened to the old gods they might be able to fix all that had happened.
He sighed to himself and turned back to the corkboard on his wall, covered in red string and pins, all of them pointing to the ruins.
It's about time that they ignored the warnings.
Divinity's Prison is the only known building that has connections to a blank period in history a thousand years ago, around the time the gods had mysteriously disappeared. There are a few photos and drawings of it, though no one has set foot in there for centuries.

Supposed Purpose

Written records never say the building's original purpose, but from what they day and what the name suggests is that it is a kind of prison and is related to the old gods. Most sources also note that the building was promptly abandoned after some sort of takeover, and most historians covering the topic say that the staff must have been overthrown by the prisoners. Luckily, all staff were counted alive and (Mostly) uninjured after the event, though unable to describe what had happened due to having swore to secrecy when they were first employed.

Appearance

The building resembles a massive castle or cathedral, nearly taking up the entirety of the island it rests on. Most images suggest that it is built out of a dark-colored stone such as granite, and show it covered with carvings and lots of crystals carefully embedded into the outside walls, serving no known purpose.

Enter Divinity's Prison

Looking for the adventure? Well, look no further!
This game is written sort of like one of those books that tell you 'go to x page to continue', but in this case it will bring you through different articles as you explore the abandoned cathedral-like place that is home to many a secret with the goal of finding something that could explain the disappearance of the old gods a thousand years ago.
Before you enter, you can choose one of these stats (Strength, Dexterity, or Wisdom) to add a +1 bonus to for the 'checks' that will happen during gameplay. (Is it reading or gameplay?) Also, you probably want a D20 or a random number generator nearby for said checks. If you don't want to use the checks, then just treat the results like story options.

Woah, this looks so cool! Excited to get home later today and and check it out! I wonder why they had to use the prison, and if it used some type of magic to run itself. If so, then I wonder how it came to be abandoned...

May your worldbuilding hammer always fall true! Also, check out the world of the Skydwellers for lots of aerial adventures.
