The Harvest Festival
The Harvest Festival is a Halloween-like holiday where people dress up in monster costumes and go door-to-door for candy in exchange of some of the crops grown or food made in that year. Those who trick-or-treat for sweets get a sugary hoard worthy of a candy archdragon, and those who distribute said candy get a myriad of delectable items such as homemade jams, spices, fruits and veggies, and bread.
Sometimes plays are put on about the Ghosts of the Harvest, which is the story that the holiday stems from. The story is very well known, and spread across the entirety of Kathrir as well as it's holiday. Even if the story didn't happen in real life and that there are no ghosts munching on your pumpkins after midnight, its still considered good luck to participate in the festivities. Plus, its just plain fun whether you are giving out sweets or collecting them.

History
The tradition started around the time the story of The Ghosts of the Harvest was created. Although that story was just a myth (at least, as far as we know) It inspired a tradition that would stay for centuries to come and spread all across the world.
Later on, the humans introduced their tradition of carving jack-o-lanterns into pumpkins, and it was happily adopted into the festival. Now, during your candy hunts, you can see the flames flickering brightly on all of these lil guys across the entire town.

Components and tools
During the Festival, everyone is given a gold-plated basket in the shape of a pumpkin with a scary face. This is used to collect your wonderful candy!
Observance
The Harvest Festival takes place on the last three days of October, when the last of the crops are ripe. Visitors are encouraged to take part whether old, young, or somewhere in between.
