The Lost Library of Akumasu
The Lost Library of Akumasu is a group of ruins hidden in a forest of eastern Kathrir. Old, dusty tomes containing knowledge sealed away for the world's protection, statues of people who possess unknown power... It would be a goldmine of knowledge if it wasn't so destroyed. Or maybe it is anyways. That is up to you.
It is certainly an interesting place to see, with it's shelves upon shelves of ancient, mildewed books and interesting architecture. A few have rummaged around in the ruins and found small things such as pieces of torn cloth, dried vines, and tiny jars of wheat or strange spices. The purpose of these were unknown, as storing foodstuffs in a Library isn't exactly normal for libraries at that time.
Purpose / Function
The library seemed used for storing forbidden books and tomes. These contained knowledge not even found in the Celestial Library, which is odd because the celestial library is much larger.
Architecture
The ruins left over show glimpses of what the library looked like in it's prime. A sturdy, stone foundation, bookshelves upon bookshelves, wooden arches, and a glass ceiling.
It also had two statues, one of a winged figure with a veil draped over their face, and one of a horned person holding a massive scythe. Both statues had been weathered down so all fine features were lost.
History
Around the middle of 1289 (eight years ago), the library was discovered by I.M.P.S scouts who were exploring the surrounding forest. It was still a ruin at the time, and according to them, there was not any obvious reason why it was left behind. They inspected the books, though all of the books had been halfway, if not fully, ruined by mildew and rain and were written in an unknown language..
