darblot (DAR-blot)

Darblot is a popular sport enjoyed by Kavrillians of all ages. It was invented by Lanarians, but it is popular among Vincarans, as well.
The game is played on a field, either outside, or in a stadium.
Making it onto the school darblot team awards major cool points. Teams are not divided by gender.
All the states of the Lanarian Empire have at least one professional darblot team, and many major cities on the continents of Lanaria and Vancorra do, as well. Demaria is the butt of frequent jokes, as they historically have the worst record. The Vaxton Vanquishers are on the opposite end of the rankings and have many championships under their belt. The Shalanera Slicers usually do well, but lose to the Vanquishers often enough to cause their fans regular heartbreak.
Author's note: The gameplay, rules, and equipment of darblot are irrelevant to the plot and I'm not a big enough sports fan to create something authentic, anyway.
