Keldas
The Rogue City
249
Ialanara had settled into a time of peace and prosperity in the time after The Bilgrim Boys stopped Vrazeer and Cthulhu from their onslaught. Telruth was transformed into a massive metropolis of trade, industry, and magic. The Arch-Mage with the help of other several powerful wizards, teleported the Mage College Berxley into the city limits of Telruth. The Dwarves setup their own section of Telruth to conduct trade and teach up coming artificers. The Elves even opened their borders and began trade with the rest of Ialanara. With Queen Runa in charge, Telruth had become a spectacle to behold.
The Artificer's guild made extreme leaps in both technology and magic item creation through out this time. Runesmithing was created. The Artificers learned to capture the power of magic items into small stones called a Rune Stone. Weapons were then being designed with slots to fit these stones to empower the weapons. With Zor leading the way, the Artificers also created the first firearm, and soon perfected the trade to where they became as common as any other weapon.
All was going well in the world of Ialanara for nearly 250 years after the events around Vrazeer. The year is now 246, when all were awaken to a dark sky and a booming voice spread through the whole land. "The lost city of Keldas has awakened, come any who seek fortune and glory". For 2 years adventures, representatives of the crown and various guild members sought out this city of Keldas to no luck. It came to the point that individuals thought the message was a simple prank and Keldas never existed.
In the year, 249 a few travelers found what initially appeared to be ruins of a massive city. However, after more investigation, learned only part of the city was in ruins. The rest seemed to be an abandoned city, almost as if the occupants vanished out of nowhere. Two of the three travelers were then killed by a group of Goblins who had already laid claim to part of the city. The third ran off informing the leadership of Telruth of the location, receiving a generous award.
With the advise of the Arch-Mage Belford, the Elf Ambassador Cyrian, the world renowned alchemist, Bilgrim, and the Dwarf Ambassador Thelgrim, Queen Runa locked down the city of Keldas to be investigated in private. The elves offered some assistance to the Arch-Mage to put up a magic barrier around the city. This would allow people in, but would block any from exiting unless deemed appropriate.
Anyone is allowed into the city, which has adventurers flocking to it constantly, but it is a one way journey.
