Khundrukar (K-un-Drew-Car)

Purpose / Function

Khundrukar was built as a the last Bastion of Durgeddins clan. The structure is primarily a fortress with living quarters, though it is notably home to a complex and highly advanced Dwarven forge and smelters as well as a impressive vault.

Defenses

The bastion is host to many traps and corridors built directly into the mountian. The entrance way itself is guarded by dozens of hidden arrow slits built to be hidden into the mountain side. This follows to a set of huge stone doors that are flanked by 4 more arrow slits. The Large doors protect the main entrance a single rope bridge spanning a chasm over 400 feet deep and 30 feet in length.

History

Khundrukar began as a small outpost owned by Durgeddin and after his clans ancestral home was raided by orcs the remaining clansmen traveled to this remote outpost and began its conversion to a stronghold and forge. The Dwarves where eventually tracked down by the orcs again and after years of fighting the orcs eventually breached the intial structure and rather than waste more of their lives breaching deeper and deeper into thetrap infested Stronghold they buried the remaining Dwarves inside and left them to starve to death.
