Isk-the-Storied
Isk , the Storied
A datau Magai, Isk is a dedicated storyteller and author. Growing up, she always loved the countless stories told within the Order, and always sought out new stories, or new variations on stories she already knew. After the Order fell, she made it her mission to preserve as many of those stories as she could.
Isk managed to survive the initial attacks on the Magai by faking her death, using her natural abilities as a datau to squirt a blood-like fluid to make it seem like she bled out. Once the attackers were gone, she crept away, hiding among Haven's enormous population. She gave up almost everything in the process to hide, to burn her roots thoroughly enough that no one would come after her, including her old name and title, and everyone she had known as family.

Personal history
Isk was just twelve when the Magai Order fell, the Grand Magai Temple stormed by a mob, stirred into violence by The Coalition. She managed to get out unharmed by faking her death, but many of those around her did not, and she passed many bodies--including of those she knew--on her way out of the Temple.
Her early years, she struggled a lot. She was too young to care for herself, but too much digging into her past revealed her status as (former) Magai. Having to hide so much of her past, her abilities, of herself, just made Isk more determined to hold on to the stories of the Magai. To the few things they couldn't take away from her.
Employment
Isk initially begun writing with little to no expectation of her work becoming popular. She wanted to immortalize the stories of the Magai in any way she could, publishing them where anyone could access them, so they could never be lost. She quickly realized that, in the modern Magai-hating world, the true stories of magic and the Magai could never pass... but altered versions could.
So Isk begun to rewrite stories. Altering just enough of ages-old Magai stories that outsiders couldn't recognize them for what they were, could read the morals and themes but not the underlying magic... but other Magai could. Still, it is a delicate balance, and one Isk continues to struggle with. So much of the Magai was lost, that she wants these stories as well-preserved as she could, but not changing enough could risk getting the stories repressed... and might get Isk targeted by Magai-hunters. Is it better to preserve something flawed, or risk losing it all?
