Magaician

Known as Magaicians, Magai Magicians, or simply Magicians, are a subculture formed within the Grand Order of the Magai. While most of the Order is oriented towards, simply put, productive work, some members can't find their place within this lifestyle. No job within the Order suits them, and leaving their creative work as a hobby or an aside simply isn't for them. These select people join together as Magai magicians.   Though the name suggests a focus on magic, Magicians have a broader focus in truth, and can specialize in all sorts of entertainment or arts. As trained Vita-Touched, they do typically involve magic in some form, but it is rarely the focus of their work. A troupe of actors may use their magic to add effects, but that doesn't stop them from being actors first and foremost. An artist reshaping stone into a statue with their bare hands is no less an artist for having used magic instead of carving tools. Still, the title stuck, useful as a way to refer to them all collectively.   Magicians are a divisive group within the Magai, however. Though most believe that one should follow their passions, and that arts and entertainment have their place within society, even for those with magic powers, there are some who think otherwise. Who believe that their powers should be used for the greater good, and that things like art and entertainment can just as well be done by the non-magical. As a result, some who choose to become Magicians rarely return to the Magai after. Many Magicians who travel away from the Grand Magai Temple, or wherever else they grew up, find new homes among other Magicians, solitary troupes of Magai who rarely or never return to their temples.   Still, to many, seeing a Magician at work might be the only time they see magic. Traditional Magai are typically either far away from settled society, where their skills are most needed, or in a place where their magic is not needed. And even beyond that, there is a vast difference between seeing magic used as a tool, to serve a specific purpose, and seeing magic used as art, as part of a show, as entertainment. To many people, Magicians thus take on a special sort of shine, a greatness that separates them from other Magai.
