Chrys BlankLeaf (a.k.a. The Reaper)

BlankLeaf Chrys, better known as The Reaper, was a mercenary who worked for the Coalition. An albino wilthorne, they were cast from society at a young age, as albinism is seen as a sign of desolation and unluckiness among wilthornes. They managed to survive for countless years in the wilderness of their homeplanet before escaping into the greater galaxy, where they became a mercenary. Like normal for wilthornes, they flipped their names around after leaving their homeplanet, using their family name Chrys as a given name when their alias doesn't suffice.
Key to Chrys' survival was the fact that they were Vita-Touched. Despite not having received training, Chrys managed to get enough of a grasp on their abilities to make up for their weaknesses in the wild. After escaping their homeplanet in their late teens, they discovered their abilities were something special, something valuable... but no one had come to bring them to the Grand Order of the Magai. Despite still being able to join the Order, Chrys refused to, hiding their abilities and only using them as The Reaper, whose identity is kept secret.

Physical quirks

Ironically, Chrys' albinism makes them sensitive to light, despite being of a plant-based species. Their eyesight is especially poor in bright light, and they thus tend to be active mostly in dusk or during the night, and often wear shades or other protective eyewear. This habit to work in the dark has also helped make their reputation as The Reaper even more terrifying.

Apparel & Accessories

Typically wears long dark cloaks as The Reaper, with a hood pulled up over their head to mask their face in darkness. Their pale skin and red-pink eyes mark them as albino, but also make it even more difficult to recognize their species.

Personal history

Chrys was born in the year 805, visibly albino thanks to their pale skin and pink eyes. The unblemished white leaves they grew earned them the name BlankLeaf, and set their fate in stone. At a young age of a few years, they were cast out of society and into the wilderness, where they were expected to die. Instead of dying, Chrys managed to survive using their untrained magic. They avoided their fellow wilthornes for years, and eventually snuck into a visiting spaceship just before it left. Its owners caught them, but weren't wilthornes, and thus didn't harbor any hatred for albinism. Instead, they saw an abandoned child, left to fend for themselves. Chrys was allowed to stay.
It didn't last long, however, as they quickly felt that their new guardians were overprotective. Having spent more than a decade alone, sharing quarters with others no longer suited Chrys, and they left on okay-ish terms.
Now free to do what they wanted, but lacking any sort of training or knowledge outside of survival, Chrys quickly fell into the darker parts of society. They found a place as a mercenary and assassin, working solo jobs for money, and used their magic freely in their alter ego as The Reaper. This eventually caught the attention of the Coalition, who hired The Reaper to work for them in the year 830, when Chrys was 25.
Chrys worked more and more jobs with the Coalition, and worked with them exclusively during the Third Age. The Reaper was one of the few publicly known figures with magic, and was critical to the Coalition's fearmongering regarding Vita-Touched.
They eventually died at age 51, in the year 856, killed by an unknown assailant. Whether this was a fellow Vita-Touched doing away with such a stain on their reputation, a non-Touched intent on helping Vita-Touched, or the Coalition tidying on loose ends... no one knows.
