Ve Leeste - A beginner's book to spells (/vɛ leːstɛ/)

A major Magai spellbook, Ve Leeste was written as a collective effort during the Second Age, based on works from multiple previous Magai. It combines their work into a single guide to the basics of magic, offering a solid guide useful to all Vita-Touched to learn the basics of their abilities.   Used since it was published, primarily in digital formats though physical copies on paper also exist, Ve Leeste was incredibly useful as a starter's guide. It taught Vita-Touched everything they needed to know to safely co-exist with their magic. While Magai-in-training could use this to build on, other Vita-Touched less interested in pursuing their magic could use the knowledge contained within the book to learn control, preventing magical dangers, including Saturation.   Unfortunately, despite (or perhaps, because of) its use, Ve Leeste has been cast in a dubious light. After the fall of the Magai Order, The Coalition declared that Ve Leeste was apocryphal: it wasn't actually written by real respected Magai, but by outsiders intent on permanently ruining Vita-Touched. By their hand, most copies of the book were destroyed, though plenty still exist as a result of being so popular before.

Purpose

It was designed as a guidebook, teaching inexperienced Vita-Touched about magic, and how to safely use it. The Magai developed many texts about magic, as they discovered how it worked and explored how to best teach it. Ve Leeste was the final result of these attempts, combining all learned knowledge in a single book, formatted and phrased to suit as large an audience as possible.
