The Kif Brothers

When the six Beings abandoned Kelunbar forest for reasons that are still unknown, the forest collapsed and many of the large creatures such as the Sequoia and the dragons of old died. This event was unprecedented and unexpected. The deities of Kelunbar had created the races of Kelunbar and had always been there in times of strife. The species of Kelunbar scrambled for survival during this terrible time. 
In addition to the mere battle for survival in this new version of Kelunbar, the skee had their own internal skirmishes. Skumas, Being of Inquisitiveness had created them and the skee had worshipped this deity since the beginning of time. The skee throughout Kelunbar split into two factions: those that wished to continue worshipping Skumas and believed that they would return, and those that felt abandoned by Skumas and refused to engage in worship.

The Kif Brothers

In a famous family scuffle, three brothers found themselves in a desolated village near Tubi Lake the first brother believed that Skumas's abandonment was beyond the god's power and they would return. The second brother believed that Skumas had chosen to abandon them. The third believed that there had never been any gods at all. 
In the wake of destruction, the first brother believed that the village should rebuild, as there was an important sacred site within the village. The second two brothers argued that there was barely a site left at all and the survival of the village depended on them finding a place where there was food available to harvest. Their arguments became more heated until the second brother began rallying a force to fight against the first brother. 
The first brother informed his brothers that if they wished to leave, they could, and they could take their followers with them, but he would continue to work to rebuild. Furious at this unwarranted devotion, the second brother and his followers attacked the first brother and the remaining skee and then destroyed the small amount of work that had been done to rebuild their village. Afterwards, the second brother and his band set off to find a new location. This brother founded Rootstock.
Distraught at this violence, the third brother fled from his remaining brother, becoming one one of the first Roamers.

"If we prove our loyalty to Skumas, they will return and save us from our own destruction. We must call out to them."
