Enma's Domain

Given the special circumstance of the souls of Japanese, a special judge was needed to apply justice to determine where the souls of the dead go. This judge is Enma, who with the help of his Oni secretaries, and a scroll detailing the deeds of the judged, will send souls to Tengoku if they were devout followers of Shinto. If they were evil they will be sent to Jigoku. However in certain circumstances where Enma deems the person has unfinished business in the material world, or could provide additional wisdom and help to the world, that soul will go to the Spirit World as a yokai, where they will serve out till their purpose is fulfilled, or for eternity depending on the circumstance. Enma is a stern and humorless being who does not tolerate frivolity, excuses, or deceit.
