Grand Cordon of the Order of the Chrysanthemum

The highest order that may be bestowed. This order may only be given out by authority of the emperor himself, though its recipient will likely have been vouged for prior by another party. Only candidates who have accomplished incredible feats of bravery and courage may receive this order.

Order of the Rising Sun

The standard medal given out for feats of bravery and courage. There are 6 total classes of this medal, 1st class being the highest honor, and representing the greatest feat, barring the order of the golden dragon, the only higher honor.

Order of the Paulownia Flowers

A strictly non-combat medal that honors great civil and social accomplishments, such as exemplary contribution to the artistic legacy of the nation, or an incredible invention or idea that revolutionized the nation.

Order of the Sacred Treasure

This order is given out to those who have served dutifully for long periods of time, and have accomplished much in their careers. Perhaps there was no single notable accomplishment, but rather an overall exemplary service and loyalty over time.
