Ministerial Office
The Ministerial Office is the executive branch of the Japanese Imperial government. This means that the office is not responsible for the passing of legislation, but only the execution, regulation, and enforcement of legislation. The head of the ministerial office is the Prime Minister who oversees the ministerial cabinet, a group of politicians called ministers of state who each have authority over an aspect of national policy, such as national defense, agriculture, commerce, etc.
Appointment
The Prime Minister must be a member of the Imperial Diet, and is chosen and appointed by The emperor. The Prime Minister serves until he is dismissed by the emperor or receives a vote of no confidence from the Imperial Diet. The cabinet members are appointed by the prime minister and serve along with the PM until he is resigns or is removed from office.Powers

- Drafting of the budget (which must be adopted by the Diet)
- Adoption of cabinet orders
- Granting of general amnesty, special amnesty, commutation of punishment, reprieve, and restoration of rights
- Signing of laws or cabinet orders by the relevant Minister of State and countersigned by the prime minister
- Appointment of the associate justices of the Supreme Court of Japan (except for the chief justice, who is designated by the prime minister and formally appointed by the emperor)
