Osakabehime

Osakabe Hime is a mysterious yokai of unknown type that lives in the upper most keep of Himeji Castle. She appears as a 30 something year old woman wearing an elegant 12 layer kimono, often accompanied by her bat familiars. She is content to remain in her room since she does not like to be around people. She originally was consulted as an oracle once per year by those that ran the castle in exchange for her ability to stay there. After the castle became merely a reminder of the wars rather than actively used, she became a forgotten legend, people are unsure if she ever even existed and cannot find the location of her elusive room. It is fabled that Osakabe Hime is among the most powerful of yokai, knowing much about a great many things, and being able to divine the future. It is also rumored that all who look upon her face die instantly. Were anyone to find this elusive yokai, it is uncertain if that would be a blessing or curse for them.
