Your tendrils are honed to give you a greater degree of defensive capability  

Unseen Deflection

At 3rd level you gain the following ability:
  • Once per long rest you can use your reaction to reduce the damage of an attack by a number of 1d10s equal to half your proficiency rounded up plus your Intelligence modifier
  •  

    Ethreal Barrier

    At 6th level your vectors come to your aid to defend you. When taking the dodge action, dex saves are automatically succeeded, and any damage taken from attacks is halved
  • You can use your action to give these effects to an ally within the range of your vectors, instead of yourself
  •  

    Psychic Repulsion

    At 14th level your vectors attempt to put space between you and your enemies
  • You can use your action to try to repel creatures of your choice to the edge of a 30 foot radius around you. - They must save against your spellcasting DC or they are pushed back and knocked prone
