Shinto
Overview
Shinto is the national religion of the Japanese Empire, and has major influence over the government and culture of Japan. The religion is near totally prolific within Japan itself, but significantly less so in the rest of the empire, as it competes with local religions. The religion has two core doctrinal branches: Shrine Shinto, the more traditional and local oriented branch, and State Shinto the more centralized and nationalistic branch. The religion has a strong focus around purity and purification, as well as reverence for divine beings called kami, as well as one's ancestors.Remove these ads. Join the Worldbuilders Guild
