Tenshi

Tenshi

Bards of this college draw their inspiration from celestial beings such as karyōbinga—bird-like spirits in Japanese Buddhist lore who sing divine sutras—and tenshi, angelic figures who serve as messengers of enlightenment. These bards view music as a sacred practice, channeling divine beauty and spiritual power through their songs. Their performances resonate with the power of the heavens, bringing peace to the troubled, cleansing evil, and uplifting souls with celestial harmony. A Tenshi bard’s music is more than mere entertainment—it is a pathway to transcendence, guiding others toward enlightenment and unity with the divine. As they master their art, these bards become radiant beings, their presence a beacon of spiritual joy and celestial peace.

    Heavenly Voice

When you join the College of theTenshi at 3rd level, your voice becomes a divine instrument. You gain the following benefits:
  • Radiant Inspiration. When a creature uses your Bardic Inspiration die, they also regain hit points equal to the roll + your Charisma modifier (minimum of 1).
  • Tongue of the Angels. You gain the ability to speak, read, and write Celestial. You can also use your bardic magic to convey profound meaning through music. As an action, you can play or sing to communicate telepathically with all creatures within 60 feet that can hear you, even if they do not share a common language.
  •

    Sutra of Tranquility

At 3rd level, you can sing sacred sutras that soothe emotions and cleanse negative energy. As an action, you sing a sutra of peace, creating an aura of calm within 30 feet of you that lasts for 1 minute. Each creature of your choice in the area has advantage on Wisdom and Charisma saving throws, and hostile creatures within the area must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw against your spell save DC or become charmed until the aura ends.     Additionally, at the start of each of your turns while singing the sutra, one ally of your choice within the aura regains hit points equal to your Charisma modifier. This healing effect can occur even if the ally is at 0 hit points.     You can use this feature once per long rest, or twice starting at 6th level.

    Aura of Serene Beauty

Starting at 6th level, your presence radiates with celestial grace. You emanate an aura of spiritual beauty that extends 10 feet from you (increasing to 30 feet at 14th level). Creatures of your choice within the aura gain the following benefits:
  • Radiant Grace. They add half your proficiency bonus (rounded up) to all saving throws.
  • Cleansing Harmony. When a creature within the aura succeeds on a saving throw to end a condition (such as frightened, paralyzed, or charmed), you can use your reaction to end the same condition on one other creature within the aura.
  •     Additionally, your music begins to purify the souls of the wicked. When a creature that is hostile to you starts its turn within your aura, it must succeed on a Charisma saving throw against your spell save DC or take radiant damage equal to your Bard level.

    Song of Transcendence

At 14th level, your song becomes a bridge between the mortal world and the divine realms. As an action, you sing a sacred song of enlightenment, summoning a celestial chorus that lasts for 1 minute. While the song persists, all creatures of your choice within 60 feet of you gain the following benefits:
  • Wings of Liberation. They gain a flying speed of 30 feet and hover while in the area.
  • Protection from Evil. They have resistance to radiant and necrotic damage and are immune to being charmed, frightened, or possessed by creatures of fiendish or undead origin.
  • Harmony of Souls. At the start of each of their turns, creatures affected by the song regain hit points equal to your Charisma modifier.
  •     In addition, once per turn when a creature under this effect deals damage to a hostile creature, the hostile creature takes additional radiant damage equal to your Bard level.     Once you use Song of Transcendence, you cannot do so again until you complete a long rest.
