Urban Exorcist
Urban legends hold power, and the Urban Myth Weaver knows how to manipulate these modern fears. By using technology as a conduit for supernatural energy, these shrine maidens hunt down cursed objects, corrupt spirits, and viral folklore. Their ofuda blend traditional magic with digital power, allowing them to manipulate information, ward technology, and summon urban phantoms.
Whispered Myths
At 3rd level, you gain:
Digital Ofuda: You can create virtual ofuda on a phone, computer, or other device. These digital charms can be used in place of physical ofuda, allowing you to cast your abilities remotely within 60 feet.
Invoke Urban Legends: You can create phantom illusions based on urban myths (like the Slit-Mouthed Woman or a Haunted Car). Once per long rest, you can cast Silent Image without expending a spell slot. These illusions have advantage on Insight or Intimidation checks, as they tap into the fears of those who recognize them.
Curse Monitor
At 6th level, you develop the ability to monitor spiritual threats in technology. You can detect the presence of haunted devices, cursed media, or digital spirits within 60 feet as a bonus action. You gain the following additional benefits:
Dispel Digital Influence: You can place an ofuda on an electronic device, ending curses or haunted effects on it.
Technomantic Ward: Using a digital device (like a phone), you can create a warding field that lasts 1 hour, imposing disadvantage on Perception checks against you and your allies within 10 feet.
Ghost in the Machine
At 11th level, your power allows you to interact with the spirit world through digital technology. You can use ofuda to perform rituals remotely through video feeds or create cursed emails, texts, or videos to ward or trick enemies. Additionally:
Viral Haunt: Once per long rest, you can cast Phantasmal Force through any screen or electronic device within 60 feet, even if you are not physically present.
Urban Legend Manifestation
At 17th level, you can fully embody the most powerful urban legends. As an action, you can assume the form of a terrifying urban myth (such as a cursed ghost or vengeful spirit) for 1 minute. While transformed, you gain the following benefits:
Frightful Presence: All creatures of your choice within 30 feet must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw (DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + Wisdom modifier) or be frightened for 1 minute.
Shadow Step: You can teleport between electronic devices within 60 feet as a bonus action.
Ethereal Form: While transformed, you can pass through walls and objects, but you cannot end your turn inside them.
Once you use this feature, you cannot use it again until you finish a long rest.
