Way of the Ninja

Way of the Ninja (Monk)

Ninjas are dedicated to mastering the art of stealth, subterfuge, and their mystical shadow arts.  

Shadow Technique

At 3rd level when you spend Ki you may also make a free Stealth check. You also gain bonus damage equal to your Proficiency bonus on all damage rolls against targets you are hidden from when your turn starts.   Also at 3rd level, you gain Proficiency in Shinobi Tools, listed below, and gain expertise in Stealth. Your dedicated weapon can also be ranged now, so long as it is not heavy or special.   You may also replace any unarmed strike with a ranged attack that uses a Shinobi Tool or Dedicated Weapon. For example you may now attack with Kunai when you use Flurry of Blows. The range for all of these attacks is 30ft/60ft.    

Silent as a Shadow

At 6th level, your training in stealth and infiltration has granted you these benefits.   Gain a climb speed equal to your movement speed and can hang from ceilings and walls easily so long as they can support your weight and you have some sort of handhold. You may also enter a shadow as an action, remaining within it as it moves so long as no bright light is shone directly on the shadow. While in a shadow you cannot take actions other than movement to get out. You can only remain within any given shadow for a number of minutes equal to your Proficiency bonus + WIS mod which replenishes on a short rest.    

Death Strike

At 11th level, when a target fails the save against your Stunning Strike, instead of Stunning the target, you may deal an amount of d6s worth of damage equal to half your level, rounded down.

Shade Presence

At 17th level, you become wreathed in a shade aura. You extinguish all light in a 30-foot radius and lower all other light to dim 30-feet further out. You can suppress or reveal this aura as a bonus action. If a creature hits you with a melee attack while within the shade, you can use your reaction to deal cold damage to the creature. The cold damage equals 5 + your Wisdom modifier. In addition, you can see in darkness, both mundane and magical, in shades of gray. You can also remain indefinitely within a shadow now using your Silent as a Shadow feature.     Shinobi Tools save DC = 8 + Prof + Dex   Kunai/Shuriken  

Tripwire

5ft wide 20ft long DC to notice and can cause prone condition  

Chloroform

- Single target and can only be used if the target is unaware or is forced to breathe it in for a number of rounds equal to their CON mod. CON save or fall asleep for 1 hour or until awakened.  

Grappling hook

100/180 ranged grapple hook.  

Smoke Bomb

- 15ft radius Blocks vision.  

Caltrops

- 10ft radius -DEX save or 1d4 damage to walk across, rough terrain.  

Pocket Sand

10ft cone CON save or be blinded for a turn  

Poison

May be applied to a weapon lasting for 1 minute. Creatures struck by the weapon must make a CON save or be Poisoned for 1 minute. They can make a save at the end of their turn to end the poison.   These tools may be attached to kunai or thrown as a bag and have their range change to 30ft/90ft and be single target. For example, Pocket Sand would be single target instead of a cone in front of you.
