You are able to cast the gust cantrip innately. If you choose to point the gust behind you, you gain the advantages of your Riding the Current ability regardless of what direction you are going, so long as you expend the action needed to maintain the spell.
You gain the following buffs to your Kamaitachi ability:

The speed increase doubles to 30 times proficiency

You become immune to attacks of opportunity
