Flora

Rustweed: The most common plant in the Iron Trail is Rustweed, a hardy grass-like plant that grows in small clumps around the scattered metal ruins. Rustweed gets its name from its reddish-brown color, which helps it blend in with the rusted metal surrounding it.
Scrap Vines: Twisting and clinging to the remnants of ancient structures, Scrap Vines are resilient plants that seem to feed off the decaying metal they grow upon. These vines have thick, leathery leaves and a waxy coating that protects them from the harsh environment.

Fauna

Rust Eaters: These large, beetle-like creatures have evolved to consume metal, particularly the rusted remnants of old machines and structures. They possess powerful mandibles capable of breaking down metal into digestible pieces, and their digestive systems can process even the most oxidized scrap. Rust Eaters are typically slow-moving but are covered in thick, armored plates that make them difficult to kill.

History

The Iron Trail is a region steeped in history, its landscape bearing the marks of an ancient industrial age. Long ago, the area was a hub of mining and manufacturing, with massive factories and mining operations extracting the rich mineral wealth from the ground. However, the relentless exploitation of the land eventually led to environmental degradation, economic collapse, and the abandonment of the region.

The Wasting: The Iron Trail is also home to many tales of ghosts and curses, whispered by those who have spent too long in its desolate expanses. Some say that the spirits of the workers who died in the old mines still haunt the region, their restless souls searching for justice or revenge. Others speak of cursed ground, where nothing will grow and machines mysteriously fail, as if the land itself is rebelling against the intruders who dare to disturb its peace.
