Avarice

Summary

A demon prince from the nine hells, he goes by many names, but responds, most often, to that of Avarice, the Lord of Greed and Gluttony.  Above all things, he hoards gold, jewels and treasures, much the same as a dragon on the material plane, yet his machinations merely involve the hoarding, and never of conquering.

His hoard is hidden, and the only known entrances are via the portals created by his servants, known as Loot (Or Treasure) Goblins; small creatures, spirits he has bound into his service to traverse the worlds and gather riches for his hoard.  These spirits flee at the first sign of danger, portalling themselves via a golden, gate-like spell back to his demi-plane; on occasion, if one of these spirits is slain, an adventurer has the grandiose luck of the portal remaining open, allowing them to traverse through and attempt to steal, liberate, or free, items from the greatest treasure hoard ever witnessed.
