Groundbreaker

Forged by Dark-Elf hands deep beneath the earth, this massive hammer's sole purpose was to destroy earth genasi and elementals who had made a home in the little-used tunnels of the Drow.

Mechanics & Inner Workings

While the exact specifics of it's workings are not public knowledge, the legends surrounding Groundbreaker indicate that it is capable of dealing significant, even lethal damage, to any earthen-based creature on contact; elementals, genasi, even rock and cave trolls have reportedly been slain with this hammer.

It is believed that Groundbreaker is infused with an even more powerful version of the controversial 'slaying' magic, all-too-commonly found on arrows and bolts fired by assassins.

Groundbreaker was forged using a long-forgotten arcane ritual; unless the tomes are recovered which describe it's creation, another can never be made, making it entirely unique.

Raw materials & Components

The haft is a simple length of Ironwood, sealed and enchanted against time.  The head is an alloy-mixture of several metals, including an encasement in mithril; an odd choice, for a weapon, but likely due to the ease in holding enchantments.
