Judge.  Jury.  Interrogator.  Executioner.

Harlan Duran faithfully served the Hallowed Order for nearly twenty years, ferreting out demons, witchcraft, and vile sorcery throughout Therengia; but, in 212AV, for reasons only he could explain, he abruptly left the service of the Order and retired, moving south to Zoluren.

Utilizing his contacts amongst his former order, as well as friends from the Brotherhood of the Silver Sword, he purchased the aged Quietus Abbey, and formed a new order, a mercenary company hailing to no flag but his own.  And thus, The Chapter of Devils were born in 216.

Physical Description

Apparel & Accessories

Like his previous employer, the Hallowed Order, Harlan continues to prefer a long trenchcoat, great brimmed hat, a leather tunic and boots.  When you wear that sort of uniform for so many years, it's a hard habit to break.

Specialized Equipment

Unlike the Hallowed Order, who often carry a hand crossbow and a rapier, Harlan prefers a sabre, one that is heavily enchanted with a number of protective spells.  A brace of daggers, wooden stakes, various silver and alchemically treated knives is slung low around his waist, and he carries a quiver for his hand crossbow on his hip.  While the crossbow itself does not appear to be enchanted, the bolts he uses most certainly are.

It's probably better if you don't reach for the knife in your boot.  Or the one under the counter.  Or the club behind your chair.  Or, really, any weapon at all.  I'd like to interrogate you before I'm forced to kill you, if you don't mind.
