Ilaya Taipa

An Elven garrison overlooking the Great Divide, built during the time of the Lyras Wars, it still stands today as a reminder of the world that once was.

Demographics

As a fortress full of Elves, one expects the denizens to be Elven.  And, one expects correctly.

Defences

Built on a tall hill overlooking the Gondola system, the Bastion of Ilaya Taipa is nigh impregnable behind tall walls, concentric trench networks, criss-crossed fields of fire from multiple scorpion weapons, and potent magical nets to nullify incoming hostile magics.  Double layered, parapet walls allow defenders to rain arrows and bolts with impunity, while a reinforced gatehouse and L-shaped entryway makes life extremely difficult for anyone thinking about using a battering ram.

Should one actually penetrate the outer wall system, the interior structure is just as defended, with a long, zig-zagging causeway leading to the citadel's gateway that is completely open on both sides, with wall structures built for defenders to continue to pelt attackers as they attempt to approach the inner gateway.

To make matters even worse for any attacking force, the entire structure and grounds have been consecrated and hallowed, warded against evil by powerful Divine and Arcane magics, forcing denizens of the outer planes, as well as any undead or risen enemies, to constantly suffer and struggle simply to exist within the confines of the fortress.
