Little is known about Kalag the Black, so named because of his sleek, shoulder length blue-black hair. It is known that he was born in Arthe Dale, as many halflings are, but little else can be verified with certainty.
Kalag has told several stories, none of which can be verified, about his parentage, his age, his real name, and even the circumstances of his birth.
What is known is that he operates a quasi-legal pawn shop in Riverhaven known as the 'Clean Getaway'. It is speculated that, should an organized guild of thieves and ruffians exist, that Kalag is deeply involved or perhaps even the leader. Those that investigate too deeply seem to disappear suddenly, often taking surprise vacations to distant lands and leaving notes for their loved ones.
