Mistwood

Occasionally found in small quantities in the forests near Rossman's Landing and Langenfirth, Mistwood is highly prized by fletchers and wood-turners for it's incredible flexibility.  It is said that an arrow made from Mistwood will strike true, even at extreme distances, and a staff or haft made from this whip-like wood will often exponentially magnify the strength of a blow.

Rarity

There is no mistwood tree, so the origins of the branches and limbs which are found are elusive at best.  Researchers from the Royal Society for the Exploration of the Natural and Physical World have a working theory that it has something to do with the local wildfires which sometimes plague the forest, but there is no conclusive evidence to support this beyond a theory.

Mistwood is rarely found in large quantities, usually enough deadfall to fletch a bow, hew a staff or haft, or turn a dozen or so arrows.  An 'excellent' find would be enough to fletch a full quiver of arrows and a bow to match, though these quantities are rare indeed.
