The 33rd Regiment

Formed long before the Lyras wars, the 33rd Regiment, more commonly known as 'The Queen's Rangers' are a loose regiment of extremely well trained, deadly individuals who are hand chosen by the Queen herself to serve. Each member must display outstanding devotion to their liege, as well as an incredible talent with blade, bow, horsemanship, and any other skill Morganae, the Undying Queen desires. They have no real command structure, only a direct mandate to perform specific tasks; sometimes in groups, sometimes as an individual.

Each member of the Regiment is expected to maintain their own arms and armor, though they receive a large stipend from the crown for performance of their duties, and are often rewarded with large chunks of bounties and fees for bringing criminals to justice.

While their numbers are unknown, it is assumed that the Queen's Rangers are a small lot, numbering less than a hundred souls.

Equipment

As irregulars, each ranger of the 33rd carries whatever equipment they choose, a list which often changes based on the mission parameter.  In general, they tend to remain lightly armored, so as to travel stealthily and at speed.

Weaponry

Generally, each carries a longbow with an assortment of arrows, including fire (or dragon's breath) arrows, whistling or signal arrows, and perhaps even arrows with grappling hooks attached; whatever the mission may require.  For close quarters engagements, each ranger is outfitted differently, based on their own skills and preferences.

Tactics

Hit and run tactics are their specialty, disrupting bandit camps in the night before the lawbreakers even know there's someone among them.  They excel at guerilla warfare and as skirmishers, drawing their enemies farther and farther into the forest.
