The Great Houses of Edeli

The Kingdom of Edeli in the Pridelands is home to the Seven Great Houses, each of which has a unique history and economic influence in the region. All of these houses have contributed to the prosperity and strength of the kingdom, and continue to grow in wealth and power

House of Amun-Set: This house is led by Loxodon, who are known for their strength and resilience. They make their fortunes through mining, and the mesas and bluffs are a major source of copper, tin and coal.   House of Ossirian: The Tabaxi who lead this house have a monopoly on the sand port, and are known for breeding the ash-worms that pull ferries in the sand. They are skilled traders and merchants, and their control over the port has allowed them to become very wealthy.   House of Bask: The Tabaxi of this house specialize in masonry and brickwork. Their work can be seen throughout the kingdom, from the grand palaces to the humblest huts. They also make decorative pottery and ceramics that are highly prized.   House of Nele: This house is led by the Leonin, who control the only access to iron ore in the kingdom. They are involved in all aspects of the iron trade, from mining and smelting to manufacturing and trading. They are also the main importers of iron into the kingdom.   House of Sodpu: The Aarakocra who lead this house have control over the salt mines and salt licks in the kingdom. Salt is a valuable commodity in the Pridelands, used for preserving food and making medicine. The Sodpu also oversee the salt trade with neighboring tribes, clans, and even northward across Corik's Wall.   House of Hapti: This house is more of a faction than a traditional house, consisting of members from various native races. They make their fortune through slave trading and gladiator training, which is a controversial practice. Hapti is often at odds with other houses, but their wealth and power cannot be denied.   House of Elum-Raht: This house is deceased, with the last members killed in 208 AV. They controlled grain production in the kingdom, and were instrumental in ensuring that the people were fed during times of famine. The ruins of their once-great estate can still be found in the outskirts of the kingdom.   Each of the Seven Great Houses of the Kingdom of Edeli has its own unique culture and history, but they all work together to ensure the prosperity and stability of the kingdom.
