The Great Harvest
The great harvest is a traditional time within many countries and regions within Kesathra. It occurs around the last week of Ebr, the month of gifts. It consists of harvesting the plants that have been growing for the past 3 months, before ushering in the cold and unforgiving single winter month, Aeyrin.
A very beloved occasion, interrupting the great harvest is seen as a crime of the highest calibre, and will often result in punishments greater than the courts give due to anger from the general public. To interrupt the great harvest is to usher in Aeyrin quickly, empowering the cold month of phantoms and farewells to take all it can get its hands on. Spellcasters work their hardest to potentially prolong Ebr, and to interrupt the harvest is to disturb their work, making the use of their energy all for nought. Should someone intentionally interrupt the harvest, they are shunned or sometimes even killed by vigilantes. Someone unintentionally interrupting the harvest is seen as a bad omen, and in some places, the interrupter is still shunned or killed, but in most places, they are pitied, as its thought they will be the first to say farewell in the coming month.
