Andasin II

As all of Andasin's sons had perished in battle, his successor was his grandson Maradon, who took the name Andasin II. Unlike his predecessor, Kanday's second king was more inclined to negotiation than war. He made alliances with the numerous petty states on his borders, including a second Aleath Republic, which joined the kingdom as a chartered freetown in 633. The Violet Mantle Palace of Arms dates from his reign. When Andasin II died in 654, Kanday was a strong, vigorous kingdom, firmly allied with its neighbors.
