Lunares (Lu-Nah-Res)
Lunares is the largest of Keyrae's 3 moons, and is the quickest to complete a full lunar cycle. Its surface is grey in colour and barren and covered in pockmarks from thousands of collisions with asteroids. Despite its desolate appearance, however, deep underground there is a large population of Kepek who have made Lunares (and the other moons) their home.
Geography
Lunares's outer surface is that of a rocky, barren moon about 2,000km in diameter. It has no liquid oceans on its surface, but its interior is completely hollow, hosting a flourishing ecosystem. Its molten core acts as a heat and constant light source, basically acting as a subterranean sun. Unlike the planet of Keyrae, the only desert locations are on the north and south pole, which are the closest to the molten core. The rest of the moon's inner surface is covered in lush greenery and expansive cities.
Localized Phenomena
The weird composition of Lunares means that gravity acts very strangely. From an outsider's perspective, it almost feels like they are being repelled away by the moon's gravity instead of being pulled to the ground, so standing on the outer surface could result in one "falling into space". This is because gravity on Lunares is reversed, allowing people to stand securely on it's inner surface.
Fauna & Flora
Unlike on Keyrae, there is no day/night cycle on the inner surface of Lunares, and so the plants that grow there have to be able to resist the constant heat and light from the core with relatively little water delivered from their roots due to the thin crust. As a result, many of the flora resembles giant succulents in various shapes and forms. Animals tend to be on the smaller side, and a vast majority are reptilian.
Tourism
Most of Keyrae's inhabitance have no idea that Lunares is anything more than a desolate rock in the sky, but it is common knowledge among some mages guilds and religious sects that it is inhabited. There used to be a Spireof Lunares built by the Saurians at the peak of the Narrowspire Mountains in Nepharis, which could teleport individuals to a "twin" spire built on the outer surface called The Deep Spire. It seemed that the Saurians were vaguely aware of the inner surface, but there is no mention in their writings about the Kepek. They have a few texts that indicate the spires were used extremely frequently and would often bring samples of plants or even living creatures back to be studied, but after the Saurian Empire fell, the Spire of Lunares fell into disarray and hasn't worked in centuries.
In more recent years, the Kepek have been able to make contact with various mages and explorer's guilds, and limited numbers of these guild's members have been able to teleport to the inner surface with the assistance of Kepek scholars and small amounts of trade occur. Their favored contacts and visitors are the Mechanon and Androids of Faewatch - who are more fond of the scientific approach to explaining the wonders of the universe than the magically-inclined populations that cover the rest of Keyrae.
