Dray

The Dray are a race of impressive stature, towering over most other inhabitants of Khana. Scales of vibrant hues, from obsidian black to fiery gold, adorn their robust, muscular bodies, providing not just a dazzling spectacle but also a natural defense against physical and magical harm. Their vibrant eyes, a palette of countless colors, reflect a keen intellect and insatiable curiosity, while their faces, with elongated snouts, neck frills, and majestic horns, bear a remarkable resemblance to dragons.   However, despite these draconic features, the Dray are notably devoid of wings and surprisingly, lack an affinity for magic. This peculiarity stands in stark contrast to their draconic kinship and sets them apart from many other races on Khana.   Driven by an unyielding spirit of industriousness, the Dray are relentless in their pursuit of progress and knowledge. This is mirrored in the grandeur of their architectural designs and the meticulous detail of their craftsmanship. Indeed, Dray Artifice is renowned throughout Khana for its aesthetic beauty and intricate detailing.   The Ishkhana Empire, the realm of the Dray, was once regarded as the second mightiest empire on Khana. However, the discovery of Arc-Gems thrust the Dray into a position of unrivaled prominence. This rapid leap forward brought with it several challenges, among them the stark societal divide between the Dray and the Duth, the human inhabitants of Ishkhana. As the Dray embraced the progress offered by the Arc-Gems, the Duth were increasingly marginalized, their status declining in the face of the Dray's relentless pursuit of progress.   The culture of the Dray reflects this dichotomy of progress and regression. The majestic creations of Dray artifice stand alongside the impoverished conditions of the Duth, a stark reminder of the societal cost of unregulated progress. As the Dray continue their pursuit of knowledge and power, the question remains: at what cost?   Despite these challenges, the Dray remain a formidable race. Their resilience, intellectual curiosity, and artistic aptitude underscore their societal values, while their draconic lineage offers a hint of the power that they might yet unlock. In the grand tapestry of Khana, the Dray represent the relentless pursuit of progress, even as they grapple with the societal implications of their rapid advancement.
