Kethra

A Promising Student

Kethra has studied at the Golden Sun Academy on Isle of the Sun. She was a promising student, albeit with some concerns. Her personality is quite chaotic, which caused some trouble for some of her teachers. It also meant that she did not have a lot of friends on the island, which meant that she was quite lonely at times.
Luckily she calmed down a bit when she met Cordell Steelheart, who arrived at the Golden Sun Academy around a year after Kethra did. Just like Kethra, Cordell was pretty chaotic of nature. While she is a human, like most people living on Isle of the Sun, she was still viewed as being different than most the others.
However, for some reason their two chaotic personalities seemed to cancel each other out, since they seemed to be each other's only friend at the academy. Together they could talk about everything and relax after a long day of training.

A Bit of a Temper

When Cordell left for the Aurleen mainland, Kethra stayed on Isle of the Sun.
There are some uncertainties what happened in the following months up until an event that went into the books as a black page for the Monks of Solis. On a bright sunny day Kethra went on a rampage, killing three monks and destroying a quite an area of the island.
She can't seem to remember what happened, as she seems to have a curse on her. Team Treebark found here in a cave in the south of Isle of the Sun after some time, very weak and sad.
However, when the party wanted to bring her back to the Temple Of The Sun, Mogarath abducted her.
When reporting back to High Priest Talanjo of the Temple Of The Sun, Cordell Steelheart was informed that Kethra was apparently in love with him. However, she did not tell this to Cordell herself yet.

Saving Private Kethra

After several months of searching, Team Treebark managed to find Kethra in a prison in Kelna, bound by some anti-magic shackles.
Over time she became very weak and exhausted. Apparently Mogarath wanted to attempt a ritual, which required Kethra to be sacrificed. Luckily she was rescued by the party and healed up a bit. However, there still seemed to be a curse on her, which is why she was taken back to Isle of the Sun in order to try and remove her curse.

I don't think a band-aid will be enough...

Recovery went slower than expected for Kethra. She has been in a state of unconsciousness for a long time, lying in the healing chambers of Isle of the Sun. After a while she was able to rest in her room, while being kept in a state of magical sleep for some time. In total her recovery took weeks, months even, and even then the effects of the curse are still unknown.
One of the main side-effects seems to be loss of memory, since Kethra is not able to remember anything about what happened to her...
