Stonemoot

Demographics

Though it remains an overwhelmingly human city, there are noticeable fractions of half elves, half orcs, aasimar, tieflings, and even smaller but present populations of the nonhuman parents of each. The reason these small portions of the population stand out is that even the utterly inhuman are not encalves of their own culture, the city is so ancient and they have been present for so long that they have utterly integrated into the city's culture.

Government

Despite its ancient origins and a penchant for traditions and practices often considered outmoded, Stonemoot is one of the most accepting of the unified Albic authority. The old ways still present there do encourage a much looser feudal bond but this also means there is less of a unified former identity as a petty kingdom to yearn for. Further though their duke remains more a first among equals on the councils of local lords whose meeting named the city he rules from, the much longer traditions of sworn loyalty to and brotherhood to draw upon lend him, and by extension the king he has sworn fealty to, much greater legitimacy. In return for this unwavering support, both the duke and his vassals are allowed to retain much more leeway over how they manage their demesne than southern lords.

Defences

Though it is far and away most famous for the great network of menhirs and stone circles running all throughout the city, the stonework of the city walls and of the keep atop and built into the large central rock formation should not be underestimated. Though iron has yet to fully proliferate in northern Albion, it is not found wanting in the spines of the city's defenders either, the harsh environment of the untamed north breeding impressive warriors.

Infrastructure

As it was founded due to a central location and the presence of an impressive landmark rather than natural resources, then grew as a meeting place, trading post, and political center there is very little industry present in Stonemoot. It primarily serves as a hub for the northern settlements to trade amongst themselves and a central port of call for goods flowing to and from the south, supplemented by a services economy for the traders and the northern central government.
