Geldric Giresken (a.k.a. Cruelhammer)

A smith and mason by trade, Geldric had no qualms against taking arms contracts for the empire. After all, he found the work enjoyable and made a good living. Being a loner by nature he tended to stay out of others' business and keep his head down. However, his perspective began to change the day he found the egg. Though gruff and stoic on the outside, Geldric has a soft spot for animals, and when he stumbled upon an abandoned bird nest on the mountain trail he couldn't help but try to rescue the lone egg inside. This turned out to be a lifelong commitment as the hatchling was no ordinary bird, but a Corvum. The process of raising this strange child quickly drew Geldric out of his complacency as he realized he had been complicit in creating a society in which he would not want a child to grow up in.
Geldric sees this new continent as a chance to not only begin a new life, but to prevent the rise of the authoritarian factions which he feels partially responsible for aiding on the old continent. Believing in the old adage that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure, Geldric seeks to preemptively thwart those who would corrupt society with a deterring show of strength. He adopts a new persona, the self-assigned moniker "Cruelhammer," hoping that he is never forced to live up to it.
