Ancients
The Ancients lived before the people of Kima ever existed. They were the continent's previous civilization, expert smiths, builders, and mages. They created technological marvels never seen before, nor since: great machines that functioned with the help of their powerful magic, structures that towered over the land, such as the Tower of Shattered Souls and the ruins that Anstead and other great cities were built upon.
Not much is really known about the Ancients. Part of the job of the Historians Society is to uncover their secrets, but most of what is known about them is mere rumor. Some say they were ageless, only mortal if touched by a blade or magic. Others believe that some Ancients survived the Collapse and still walk the lands of Kima, but there is no substantial evidence to support either theory.
Disbandment
The civilization of the Ancients was utterly destroyed during the events of the Collapse. Only ruins remain.
