Duergar

Although the Dwarves are long gone, their legacy is continued through the Duergar of the Underdark. At the end of the Great Judgement, a clan of Dwarves escaped persecution by fleeing into the Underdark. However, they were corrupted over time due to the black magic present in an area called The Abyss. This magic changed the Dwarves, stripping them of their sight and their creative abilities, turning them into what are now called Duergar. The Duergar live throughout the Underdark, although most of them live in a fortress called Jagstone Keep, where they care for one another and practice the arts of the ancient Dwarves. Duergar are mostly incapable of the great feats the Dwarves once achieved, yet they still have a desire to create, even if by following schematics.
