Ulrick Bolbin (a.k.a. Ulrick the Wise)
Ulrick Bolbin, also known as Ulrick the Wise, is a Human Wizard in his late 60s. He can be described as skinny and lanky, wearing smelly clothes that are beginning to tatter. He was born in the Kingdom of Emyel and, when he became 18, migrated to Vush to study Arcane Mechanics at the Grand Academy. He constructed the Nautiloft as his research project during his time there. Eventually, a mentor of Ulrick at the Academy named Sortis developed the Sortis Serum, a potion which allows its user to glimpse into possible futures. After using the serum, Sortis witnessed the Frigid Wrath, which manifested due to the Serum's flaws by freezing Sortis to death. When they were discovered by the Board of Scholars, Ulrick and Miral were blamed for Sortis's death and were banished from the Academy. Ulrick used the Nautiloft to take Myral to Yedirlu, where she began her new life as a tavernkeeper. Urlick then traveled to the Tarstanese capital of Guksar, built his watchtower, and perfected the Sortis Serum. He then awaited the arrival of the Hellraisers, researching their pasts which the Serum revealed to him.
