Dearest Lind,
I would like to wish you a very happy birthday. I hope the day is as enjoyable as possible for you, and I trust you received the birthday money I had sent to your Grace Bank account.
I regret to inform you that Mr. Bartlet has retired and will no longer be delivering letters between us, or serving as a contact in the event of any emergency you may need me for. I have arranged for someone else in the area to act as a point of contact. I was informed he had found an apartment in your complex. His name is Halcyon Greaves and I hope you may become acquainted with him. I understand you may be concerned that he is much younger than Mr. Bartlet, but rest assured he is a professional and is not there to watch your every move, only to act as a point of contact should you need anything from me. And if you ever at any time feel unsafe in your apartment, do not hesitate to go to him for protection.
Speaking of Mr. Greaves, I was hoping he might bring you to meet me. I feel it is well past time for us to meet, if you so wish, and he knows precisely how and where to locate me. Do not be afraid to travel with him. He is, as I said, a professional, and knows harming you would be the last thing he ever did. Of course, it is your decision, but I would very much like to meet you in person. There is much that I feel it is beyond time to explain, if you wish for any answers. No question will be left unanswered.
Mr. Greaves knows you will be receiving this letter today, and will inform me of your answer if he receives one. No answer is also an answer, I understand.
May you have a pleasant birthday.
With love,
Your Father
