Kingdom of America
In 1786, Shays' Rebellion shakes a young nation to the core. Veterans of the revolution have their lands sezed by the states, and see no compensation from a weak federal government. Led by Daniel Shays, the rebels demonstrated the frailty of the American government, threatening to kill the experiment in its infancy. This causes the Congress of the United States to call for a constitutional replacement of the Articles of Confederation. Alexander Hamilton, endorsed by Congressional President Nathaniel Gorham, propose the enactment of a Constitutional Monarchy, with Prince Henry Hohenzollern of Prussia as king.
This is an exploration of a timeline in which that proposal was accepted, and the historical ramifications that could have risen from such a change.
