Lenen

The city of Lenen is located at the junction of two rivers. Since the rivers have always been major trade routes, a fortress was built at their conjunction. This fortress was used to protect the trade routes and became a trade hotspot. Over time, people began to settle around the fortress and the town of Lenen was founded. Soon, the town grew into a city and was surrounded with a wall. To this day, the city is an important stop for traders.

Lenen has no notable separation into districts with the exception of the fortress, nowadays known as the royal palace, which is separated from the rest of the city with a moat and wall. The city has several markets where all sorts of merchandise is sold, one of which is located inside a large market hall. This market hall, along with the palace and the three temples of the divine King and Queen, is one of the most well-known landmarks of the city.

The city is home to all sorts of different people as well as several important organizations. It is run by a council and protected by the City Watch. Lenen is also home to the royal family, and therefore the royal court, and the primary training facility of the royal army is found just outside the city. Additionally, a secret organization of assassins known as the Guild also operates out of Lenen.

Back when the royal court used to travel across the kingdom, the fortress of Lenen was a popular stop on the court's travels, in part due to its central location in relation to the kingdom, partly because of its size and comfortable accommodations.

When the court decided to take up a permanent residence, the fortress of Lenen was chosen. With the court now permanently living in Lenen, the city became the capital of the Kingdom of Keider.
