Superior of the Guild

Though most regular people are unaware of the existence of this rank, every member of the Guild is familiar with it. The Superior of the Guild is the leader of the entire organization and has the authority to give orders to any member. They are part of the High Council, which makes the decisions for the Guild, but they can overrule the Council's vote if they see fit.

The title of Superior has existed as long as the Guild has, and it has been held by many people throughout its existence. Since the structures of the Guild have always been significantly less male-dominated than the rest of the Kingdom of Keider, both men and women can hold the position and have done so in the past. In fact, slightly more women than men have been in the position.

As is to be expected in a secret organization of assassinsSuperior of the Guild has never been the most secure position. Many previous Superiors have been murdered by Guild members in order to take over the position. There is not technically a limit on how long a person can be Superior, but it is quite uncommon for someone to stay in the position longer than a few years without stepping down or getting killed.

Oriane, the current Superior of the Guild, has been in the position for almost ten years, which is an extraordinarily long period for any Superior to be in charge. Lately, she has had to contend with a faction of the Guild that aims to overthrow the kingdom.

Before she became Superior, Oriane was a supporter of the faction, but after a while, she no longer agreed with the faction's methods. Recently, Oriane began working with her daughter Feire to stop the faction from taking over Keider.
