Ogonitsa

Help my world and my work to grow by supporting me on Ko-fi! After being a hobby of mine for long, now my creative work is my main income and mean of life!
Ogonitsa (also known as "Party of Fire") is one of some of the oldest Moskovar rituals known. It is a traditional massive ritual done in the end of the winter and it is believed to bring good luck for welcoming spring and keeping Demons away.

Execution

The festival usually lasts from three days to one week, similarly to Nodvragoda's Summer Festival. During the festival, there are several activities the attendants do, and while some are done during the whole extension of the festival, others are done on specific days.

Observance

The observance of the rites is moderated by the Solar Calendar, as the world's rotation around the Sun is what makes seasons change. The Ogonitsa festival is celebrated when the spring equinox takes place, usually around the month of Orelsky.
