Raid to Nodvragoda
Work in progres!
The Raid to Nodvragoda, also known as the Siege of Nodvragoda was an invassion to the city of Nodvragoda by the Empire of Moskova which took place during the first day of the 1362Nodvragoda's Summer Festival. It is one of the saddest events from Moskova's recent History and the most infamous action by Ivarosovic Grosnik during his reign.
This siege marked a breaking point for Nodvragoda's history and for the cental power itself, as it was the first time the Dark Army had involvement in a battle within the colonisation context of the Empire.
The Conflict
Prelude
It was a hot summer in 1362. People in the Republic of Nodvragoda lived most quietly in their prosperous city. Despite having ceased to be the capital long ago, and even having separated from the then principality, its good relationship with it allowed life to be pleasant for its inhabitants for about two hundred years. It was just a few days before the classic summer festival that used to be held annually on the shores of the lake.
Deployment
Imperial troops entered the city through the gates located at the southrn frontier by 9:00 p.m. For at least three hours before it, the priest from the main Sun Temple of the city and the guards of the gates tried to hold them back, failing at their attempts. By the same time, the The Dark Army commanded by the Tsar Ivarosovic Grosnik himself alongside Mikhai Rankash attacked from the forest. The Dark Army was the unit that had the biggest participation at this siege. The Summer Festival was about to start, but unfortunatelly it couldn't do it as the attack from the forest was a surprise. The army's men began to set a fire in the main street's buildings while the Dark Army broke through the festival, burning down its setup.
Battlefield
The battlefield technically involved the whole city, although the lake shore and the central street of the city where some of the most important places where the battles took place. The central street was one of the most damaged zones.
Conditions
The conditions of the battle were really unequal since it involved mostly unarmed civil population against a full army, mostly formed by militians from The Dark Army. Despite there were some suspictions about the Empire's intentions, these were understimated so the raid took most of the people as a surprise, preventing the city to prepare itself for an actual defense. Civilians tried to defend themselves by improvising weapons and attacks (doing barricades, throwing objects or boiling water at the soldiers).

Aftermath
The siege of Novgorod caused a big material damage, destroying a lot of buildings and leaving fire marks that are still noticeable. The fire also destroyed part of the nearby forest, which will have to face a long time recovering. The city's populaton decreased, since a lot of people was killed or had to run away for escaping the violent massacre. The outcome of this conflict had also impacted the city's collective psychology, as Nodvroguites became more reserved, sadder and untrustful because of trauma. They are considered a very resilient and stoic population who are still having a small bit of hope very deep inside ther hearts (despite not being very noticeable) despite all what happened.
Those poor people. It's even sadder that is was inspired by real events.
Yes, very sad indeed. And sadder that it seems like History keeps repeating itself.
