Lysana

Lysana is the current governor of the Koril Islands province. She was chosen by her own people, as colony governors to not require appointment by the K'oa, though the K'oa can remove them if desired. Her appointment and actions caused some anger from those outside the city, with some even calling for her removal from office, but the K'oa has not given the situation much attention and has so far allowed her to remain in the position.
She has a reputation for being a flirt, enjoying hedonistic pleasures more than many in Oara think she should. This ranges from seducing other nobles, mostly from in and around the city, to drinking and hosting lavish parties. In turn, she thinks that those who devote their lives to studying the Oa are missing out on life's true enjoyment. She publicly claims to respect the Oa but merely think its followers are uptight, though in reality she considers it a completely worthless pursuit. This attitude is partly due to her upbringing on another planet. She never knew what it was like to live with a strong connection to the Oa, always being taught the importance of wealth and manners instead of spirituality.

Personal history

Unlike some inhabitants of the colony planets, who were banished from Ylis for religious violations, Lysana was born and raised in the Koril Islands province. Her parents were wealthy merchants, meaning she grew up around nobility while inheriting the looser sense of morals accompanying the planet's distance from the Oa. She was appointed to the governor position by the K'oa at the age of 32.
