Hargulka Queen of the Trolls
Driven by a dream of being a conquering, warrior queen Hargulka rose to power by bringing together the trolls of the southern Narlmarches. She led raids of human encampments and forged alliances with the fiercest creatures of the region. She established a seat of power in Hargulka's Keep a long abandoned dwarven fortress.
When the party came to throw down against the trolls, Lucian Bloodtusk took a gamble on diplomacy. Through a showing of strength and intimidating prowess he not only convinced the queen to ally themselves with Bredenham, but also became an object of fascination. Hargulka became enamored of this brash Orc and only agreed to become part of the kingdom if Lucian would be her male consort, and if Gurija, her female consort and sorceress, would be given a place on the council of mages in Bredenham. Not wanting to raise the trolls ire, Lucian agreed to take the offer to the council with the understanding that Bredenham would not be ruled by Hargulka, but that she would remain a leader of her people and that their crimes against the people of the Narlmarches would be set aside, as is the way of Bredenham. After a demonstration of the power of each of the other members of the expedition Hargulka agreed to wait for the word of the council.
Unfortunately the Trolls and the council of Bredenham failed to reach an agreement to merge their two kingdoms, and in the process gravely insulted Hargulka. Hargulka, furious over being rebuffed, swore to wreak havoc upon the kingdom of Bredenham and crush them all beneath her hordes. She retreated to her stronghold and there began regrouping her forces. Hargulka's territory is now actively hostile to Bredenham.
